Firstly, a massive thank you to two of Winchester Goalball Club’s finest, Geoff Harmer, for putting this brilliant video together, and Adam Knott, for playing the music for the Goalball Family to ‘sing’ along to.

We hope that you all enjoyed watching the Goalball Family version of Three Little Birds as much as we did making it.

We wanted to share something that was fun and a little bit silly, but also has positivity and togetherness in abundance. The lyrics to this song offer us all a message of hope that we can get through this together, as well as the motivation to come out the other side to the best of our ability.

Please keep reaching out to us via the usual channels and sharing what you have been getting up to. We hope that everyone is staying safe.

The ensemble, in order of appearance, is as follows:

Adam Knott (Winchester Goalball Club):
Stood playing the keyboards – a tuneful start.

But then, oh no………..!

Stephen Newey (Goalball UK staff member):
Wearing a baseball cap whilst ‘hanging out in his hood’ – also known as his bedroom! I reckon if the camera had panned left, we might have seen his teddy bear!

Kathryn Fielding (Goalball UK staff member):
Holding up a “Hello Mum” sign – I don’t think her mum will be happy being associated with those dulcet tones!

Faye Dale (Goalball UK staff member):
Sat in her office, swaying along and singing into the camera – apparently, she used to be in the school choir? Really? They must have been desperate for members!

Mark Winder (Goalball UK CEO):
Through the power of technology, Mark appears to be sat on a beach in the Caribbean – I bet his family wished he was over 4000 miles away when he was recording this so that they didn’t have to listen to it!

Alex Bunney (Goalball UK staff member):
Standing in the sunshine in the garden – I hope the next-door neighbours had their windows closed! Apologies to them if not!

Tom Dobson (Goalball UK staff member):
Wearing a (terrible!) multi-coloured shirt with a baseball camp on sideways – looking more like Mr Tumble than MistaJam!

Mark Martin (Goalball UK board member):
Sat in his office with his cat called Ted – he looks like he would definitely much prefer to be out chasing three little birds rather than listening to Mark attempt to sing ‘Three Little Birds’!

Gwennan, Catrin and Bethan Young (South Wales Goalball Club):
Stood in the garden proudly waving a Wales flag and creatively using a goalball as a tambourine – I think we need to check their passports though as I thought the Welsh were supposed to be good at singing?!

The Spencer-Sallis family (Winchester Goalball Club):
Bobbie-Jack is holding a ‘#GoalballUK #WGC’ sign and Chaeli is holding a ‘Don’t worry’ sign. Sat between them is Loman with Kalem, Kimberley and Shaun stood up behind – Basingstoke’s Got Talent!

Mark Winder (Goalball UK CEO):
Still on the beach in the Caribbean – and still not in tune!

Alex Cockerham (Goalball UK Official):
Stood in his hallway at home – listening to that we now know why he is studying Sports Coaching at University and not Music!

Steve Cox (Goalball UK staff member):
Out for his daily walk along a quiet country lane – I think he’s whispering in case anyone could hear him but there is nothing to worry about there, as if anyone could, I’m sure they would have quickly turned and walked the other way!

Ben Tall (Winchester Goalball Club):
Singing and dancing along in his garden – at last, someone who can actually hold a note! And he’s got the moves! Go Ben!

Faye Dale (Goalball UK staff member):
Still in her office at home – Goalball UK’s National Talent Led yet there’s not much talent on display here!

The Spencer-Sallis family (Winchester Goalball Club):
Bobbie-Jack and Chaeli are wearing their eye shades – you can’t hide, we know it’s you!

Stephen Newey (Goalball UK staff member):
Still in his bedroom – and still trying to be cool but………..!

Gwennan, Catrin and Bethan Young (South Wales Goalball Club):
Still in the garden with eye shades on their foreheads – penalties for them all!

Tom Dobson (Goalball UK staff member):
Still in THAT shirt! – we’ve checked with Google Translate and apparently Tom is saying “Singing sweet songs”. How ironic!

Steve Cox (Goalball UK staff member):
Still on his walk – Captain Tom Moore might have been singing ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ but Steve is sounding like that!

Gwennan, Catrin and Bethan Young (South Wales Goalball Club):
Still in the garden – I thought practice was supposed to make perfect?!

Kathryn Fielding (Goalball UK staff member):
Stood pointing to a sign saying “Don’t worry, about a thing; because we’re going to be back, playing goalball soon” – thank goodness for that so we won’t have to hear her sing again! “Quiet Please”!

Everybody together:
Looking good but unfortunately not sounding good!

Adam Knott (Winchester Goalball Club):
Stood playing the keyboards – back where we started.

Alex Cockerham (Goalball UK Official):
Still in his hallway at home – blows his whistle to bring it all to an end. Well played everyone!
