This season the cup was sponsored by Goalfix. Goalball Cup was originally created to give players the opportunity to play under full IBSA rules back in the day when the rest of domestic tournaments were not. However, as the sport has developed in the UK, so too has the Goalball Cup. It is now the most prestigious trophy in domestic goalball; the FA Cup of the goalball world.
