A lot has been happening in the West Midlands over the past few months:

Chris delivered taster sessions at a Guide Dogs Open Day at their National Breeding Centre in Leamington Spa, and likewise Becky at a Festival of VI Sport organised by British Blind Sport, whilst Faye has been a regular visitor to New College Worcester (NCW) – firstly for their Family Open Day for perspective new students and then to deliver small group skill sessions for some of their current players.

At the European B Championships in Portugal, RNC Hereford were well represented with coach Aaron Ford and Elite players Dan Roper, Laura Perry and Kali Holder. On the club front, they have started the defence of their National League crown well but NCW currently sit above them thanks to their gold medal winning performance at the 1st Novice tournament of the season. Beacon (Wolverhampton) and Birmingham have also both been in action in the Novice and Intermediate (Region B) Leagues.

Looking ahead to next year, they’ll be 2 more Elite tournaments at The Factory in Birmingham as well as a Novice (Region B) tournament at Nunnery Wood Sports Centre in Worcester. We’ll be holding our annual Talent Camp at RNC during the February half term holiday and we’ve been invited to attend an Action for Blind People Family Day. We are also hoping to launch a community club in Worcester in partnership with the Sports Development team and University. More details soon!
