Last weekend 10 Intermediate teams from across the country gathered in Sheffield to battle it out in the Intermediate Finals, for the honour of being crowned the Intermediate Champions 2015.

In a change to the usual format, the 10 teams competed over 2 days in a 10-way Round Robin format, which gave each the opportunity to face each other. For many players, this was their first experience of a 2 day competition, which presented it’s unique challenges and tested their endurance as well as skill. In total, 50 games of Goalball were played across the weekend, with over 40 players turning out for their respective teams.

In the final, Scarborough took on Winchester in a pulsating and entertaining match, with Scarborough claiming the trophy with a 9 – 8 win. Scarborough were deserved winners, after being the most consistent team over the weekend.

The Tournament was a huge success, with fantastic Goalball being played, highlighting the ongoing development of the sport in the UK. For full results from across the weekend, Click Here.
