parkruns are free 5k ‘runs’ that take place on Saturday mornings in parks around the UK (and the wider world). They are a great way to improve your fitness and engage with your local community.

If the thought of running 5k is daunting, don’t worry, as you can jog or walk. You can also volunteer for a variety of roles.

There are already a number of goalballers who regularly take part who will tell you how much they enjoy them and here are some stories from other VI’s: http://blog.parkrun.com/uk/tag/visually-impaired/

There are some specific VI events coming up:
Saturday 24th March at Rutland Water (East Midlands)
Saturday 31st March at Chipping Sodbury (South West)
Saturday 7th April at Highbury Fields (Greater London)

Or alternatively, you can just go along to your nearest parkrun on any Saturday. If you contact the volunteer co-ordinator in advance, they will help find you a guide.

Happy running!
