Over the past couple of months, working in partnership with Disability Sport Northern Ireland (DSNI), Goalball UK have been trying to develop playing opportunities in Northern Ireland.

It began with a Goalball Leaders course in Belfast on June 28th which was attended by staff from DSNI as well as from RNIB NI, Angel Eyes and some local teachers and coaches.

The next day, supported by Vicki and Judith from DSNI, Kathryn delivered a session to students at Jordanstown School which is specifically for pupils who have a sensory impairment.

Then, on Saturday 13th August, it was Faye’s turn to visit Northern Ireland to deliver a ‘Have a go’ session in Belfast. Written by Torie Tennant, here is an excellent blog detailing the day.

This was followed by another session in Londonderry on Sunday 14th August. More sessions are currently being planned so if you live in Northern Ireland and are interested in getting involved, please contact Vicki Kennedy (Tel. 028 9046 9925 or email vkennedy@dsni.co.uk).
