Over the past year, Goalball UK has been supporting Disability Sport NI to develop goalball in Northern Ireland. A number of taster sessions have been held in Belfast, Craigavon and Londonderry whilst 2 Goalball Leaders courses have upskilled a number of coaches. Last Saturday, a milestone was reached when, together with Faye and Kathryn, a group of players from Yorkshire went over to Antrim for a joint training session.
The day was an incredible success with everyone involved thoroughly enjoying themselves – there are lots of photos and videos on the Blind Sports Network facebook page to prove this! Development work is also ongoing in both Scotland and Wales so it is hoped that we will soon be able to have the 1st ever Goalball Home Nations tournament.
