parkrun to the Paralympics update

Our virtual journey towards Tokyo continues. We have now covered 4455km so are almost halfway there. Thanks to everyone who has taken part so far – this includes members from the following clubs as well as some Goalball UK staff and volunteers:

Cambridge Dons
Croysutt Warriors
Derbyshire Ducks
Glasgow
London Elephants
North West (NI)
Nottinghamshire Sheriffs
Scarborough Panthers
South Yorkshire
West Yorkshire
Winchester

Chris Payne (Derbyshire Ducks) still has a 100% record so has individually contributed 325km! Winchester Goalball Club also gave the total a big boost when 23 members took part in Winchester parkrun on Saturday 12th October. The twist was that the players were guiding their parents as they were challenged to complete the 5k course wearing eye shades. Despite the rain, it was a great success, helping raise awareness of goalball but also raising funds for a planned residential next year – you can read more about it on their Facebook page.
