Goalball UK have been busy over the past few months promoting and supporting goalball in Scotland.

In March we delivered a taster session at Scottish Disability Sport’s VI Engagement Day in Edinburgh.

In April we attended Sight Village in both Edinburgh and Glasgow.

In May we held an ‘open’ training session at Edinburgh College and helped British Blind Sport launch their new First Steps initiative.

In June we called in at a Glasgow Goalball Club training session to see how their preparations were going for the Intermediate Finals.

Then the following day we delivered a taster session to the P4 pupils at Darvel Primary School in East Ayrshire.

Also in June, Andrea Logan from Glasgow Goalball Club played for Great Britain Women in the Madrid tournament and returned with a Bronze medal – she is hoping to be selected for the European Championships in September.

In July, together with fellow Glasgow Goalball Club players Alan (Novice) and Graeme (Intermediate), Andrea (Elite) competed in the Goalball UK End of Season tournament in Sheffield.

Looking ahead, we will be at the Paralympics GB Carnival in Edinburgh on Sunday 18th September and there is going to be another Scottish Disability Sport VI Engagement Day, this time in Falkirk, on Saturday 26th November.
