Safeguarding and Equality
Goalball UK is working closely with the Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU), a specialist group under the umbrella of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) to maintain an up to date safeguarding and child protection policy. Goalball UK are currently working towards the preliminary standards. For more information on the standards procedure, please contact the NSPCC or CPSU.

Goalball UK has a requirement as the recognised national governing body for the sport to provide a user friendly and transparent approach to safeguarding, child protection, welfare and equality for all.
- This approach will see Goalball UK staff, volunteers, players, officials, non-playing members, spectators, families of those involved and external partners understand the process and regulations in place.
- Goalball UK has named a designated Lead Safeguarding Officer.
- Goalball UK Lead Safeguarding Officer and Directors are working closely with the relevant organisations including the NSPCC and Sport England to build a portfolio of resources that address the serious nature of safeguarding involved in the sport.
- These resources will be made available for all through our central database of appendices held at the Head Office with the administrative team and the Lead Officer. All Goalball UK staff will be given copies and made aware of the contents relevance. The full safeguarding portfolio will also be available online.

Safeguarding Awareness and Training
Ensure all those who have direct contact with young people in your club have completed basic Safeguarding Awareness training. UK Coaching offer Safeguarding and Protecting Children courses regularly and locally. You will find details on these courses by contacting the Goalball UK Lead Safeguarding Officer or your local County Sport Partnership.
