Welcome to the comprehensive results of the Goalball UK 2025 Annual Members Survey.

As we noted in our recently published [Annual Report 2025], we made the deliberate decision to significantly overhaul our survey process this year. It is vital that we accurately capture the true voice, feedback, and needs of our community, as this listening process forms the absolute foundation of our strategic direction.

Thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts. We received responses from across the entire Goalball family—including players, coaches, officials, fans, and club volunteers.

Before we dive into the data, we are delighted to announce the winner of the prize draw. A massive congratulations to Eilidh Johnstone, the winner of the Amazon Voucher!

Here is a look at the data, insights, and action plans resulting from your feedback.

The Numbers: Loyalty and High Satisfaction

Strong Support and Community Backing The quantitative data shows a sport with a dedicated and growing foundation:

  • Net Promoter Score (NPS): Our overall NPS rose to 58 (up from 56 in 2024), indicating incredibly strong and growing member loyalty.
  • Recommendation Score: When asked how likely you are to recommend Goalball UK to a friend, the community gave an outstanding average score of 8.76 out of 10.

High Satisfaction Across Core Services We reviewed the baseline performance of our domestic competitions, officiating, and support structures, and satisfaction remains exceptionally high:

  • Support and Administration: 100% of respondents reported being satisfied with the support received from Goalball UK staff when raising queries.
  • Safeguarding and Welfare: 94.6% of our community feel confident in reporting a safeguarding concern.
  • Competition Venues: 90.9% are satisfied with the geographic location of tournament venues.
  • Performance Pathway: 85.7% expressed satisfaction with the organization and communication regarding development opportunities.
  • Competition Frequency & Officiating: 81.8% are satisfied with the frequency of competition and the standard of officiating at their level.

Turning Feedback into Action

Alongside these positive statistics, the survey provided invaluable text feedback and specific suggestions on how you want to see the sport evolve.

Your comments covered everything from reviewing competition structures and player grading systems to enhancing development opportunities for coaches and referees. You also emphasized the need to ensure our pathways remain inclusive and accessible for all ages and backgrounds.

We want to reassure everyone that we have taken all of these comments firmly on board.

This feedback could not have come at a better time. We are currently in the final year of our Sport England funding cycle and are actively working on our application to continue this crucial partnership. As we negotiate our future funding and strategic alignment with Sport England, we are directly integrating your suggestions, insights, and experiences into these critical conversations. Your input ensures we are building a robust, well-resourced roadmap that addresses real community needs.

Next Steps: Keeping the Conversation Going

Our commitment to transparent communication and collaboration does not stop here. We will continue to use this survey data to refine the delivery of our “Empowering Our People” strategy.  To explore these themes further and discuss how we are putting your ideas into action, we invite you all to join us at Connect 2026, our national conference, taking place this September. Thank you once again for your honesty, your time, and your unwavering dedication to moving our sport forward.
