On Saturday 7th July, the Goalball community united for the 2018 End of Season Tournament in Sheffield.

Over 70 players attended from across the country to be crowned End of Season Champions in a friendly inter-club competition. This year’s tournament ran alongside England’s progression into the Quarter Finals of the World Cup, which saw team names inspired by England footballing heroes such as Harry Kane, Jordan Pickford and Kieran Trippier to name a few.

The morning started with the Goalball UK Annual General Meeting, with CEO Mark Winder introducing the new Goalball UK Chairman John Grosvenor to members. It was then off to compete with 3 tournaments taking place at the English Institute of Sport including a junior day to allow for new participants to try Goalball.

Goalball still carried on throughout the day, including a court for members that did not want to watch the football. Prior to the 2nd half of the Football the Goalball UK annual awards were handed out to winners by chairman, John Grosvenor.

Mark Winder, CEO Goalball UK said “It was great to see so many people attend the recent end of season tournament and AGM. It was a great day that brought together the Goalball UK family together for fun. It is important we keep this event going not only to come together but also to celebrate the successes of our wonderful sport. If you were unable to attend and we can make it easier for you to do so, please get in touch with me. We celebrated some fantastic achievements. Below are the winners of our awards. My address to the Goalball UK Community will be included within the July Newsletter”
