Goalball is a team sport open to both male and female players. It was originally developed in 1946 to help to rehabilitate servicemen and women who had become visually impaired in the Second World War. More recently, it has developed into a highly popular sport played in many countries and in international competitions including the Paralympic Games.
Because people without visual impairment also play Goalball, all participants wear eyeshades so that all compete on an equal footing.
Players are guided by physical markers on the court and bells in the ball … making effective communication a very important element of the game, as it is in the business environment.
Goalball is very safe and great fun, and always gets highly competitive!
