Are you aged between 16 and 25 years old and passionate about goalball? This is the opportunity for you.

The Goalball UK Youth Forum exists to raise the voice of young goalballers within the sport, to help shape future goalball opportunities for children and young people, and to enhance the ongoing fundraising efforts of the Goalball UK charity.

What has the Youth Forum done so far?

Although the forum did not run an event or fundraiser in 2025, there has been lots going on behind the scenes. The Forum has: helped with the 2025 Safeguarding campaign on social media, supported the Goalball UK social media team at tournaments, and more.

Members of the forum have also attended conferences both as speakers and guests to advocate for young goalball players and for those who are visually impaired (VI). One member of the forum even was invited to speak on the ‘Play Their Way’ podcast too.

What is next for the Youth Forum?

The Youth Forum has an exciting year ahead with members planning a future fundraiser event. Additionally, the Forum will continue its efforts to increase safeguarding awareness along side the Goalball UK safeguarding lead. The Forum intends to also support Goalball UK at national tournaments too.

The Forum will also continue to work alongside other youth boards within the sport and VI sector to help the voices of young goalballers be heard beyond the goalball world itself.

Who are the existing members of the Youth Forum?

Between meetings, members also complete tasks like creating questionnaires, completing research and contacting organisations which takes roughly two to three hours a month. If you joined the Youth Forum you would be expected to be a member for a minimum of two years.
