Goalball UK Appoints Three New Non-Executive Directors to Strengthen Board
We are delighted to announce the appointment of three new Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) to its Board: Dr. Lisa Gannon, Adam Knott, and Ian Clarke.
The appointments bring a wealth of experience from across the high-performance sport, academic, and business sectors, further strengthening the leadership of the National Governing Body as it continues to drive the sport forward.

Dr. Lisa Gannon joins the Board as the new Senior Independent Director (SID), succeeding Peter Elliott. A former international gymnast for Wales and Great Britain, Lisa is an Associate Professor at Leeds Trinity University with a PhD in bone health and spinal loading. She brings significant governance experience, having previously served as a Non-Executive Director for Welsh Gymnastics (2016–2023), where she chaired the Performance Committee and led Commonwealth Games reviews.
Adam Knott, a goalball Paralympian who represented Great Britain at London 2012, also joins the Board. Adam is a well-known figure in the community, having founded the Winchester Goalball Club in 2013 and grown it into one of the UK’s most successful clubs. His lived experience as an elite athlete and a club leader will provide invaluable insight into the grassroots and performance aspects of goalball.
Ian Clarke completes the trio of new appointments, bringing further strategic expertise to the Board. Ian joins with a strong track record in leadership, governance and marketing and communications. He has a strong commitment to the development of inclusive sport.
