As another exciting season comes to a close, we are proud to announce and congratulate the winners of the Goalball UK End of Season Awards for the 2025/26 season. These individuals have exemplified the spirit of determination, teamwork, and inclusivity, leaving a positive effect on the goalball community!

2025-26 Player of the Season – Tegan Booth (RNC Academy)

Tegan with her 25/26 Player of the Season Award

Tegan has shown remarkable growth on and off the court since beginning goalball at RNC in September 2025. During the 2025–26 season, she represented RNC Academy at Regional level, helping the team secure the Region B league title and earning Player of the Day at Tournament 2.

Her rapid development was further highlighted when she stepped up to the Intermediate level at the 2026 Intermediate Trophy, where she played a key role in RNC's tournament victory. Tegan's progress has also seen her join the Goalball UK Academy and take part in several Performance Pathway development opportunities where she has demonstrated further progression in her game.

Throughout the season, Tegan has overcome personal challenges while consistently demonstrating outstanding commitment, enthusiasm, and resilience. She brings energy, positivity, and fun to every training session and competition, making her an exceptional teammate both on and off the court.

A massive congratulation to Tegan on her achievement for the 2025/26 season. We look forward to following her journey through the sport in years to come!

2025-26 Keith Lound (Service to Sport) Award – Bev Bu-Rashid (Winchester Goalball Club)

Bev Bu-Rashid with the Keith Lound Service to Sport Award

Bev first began her goalball journey in 2013, when she first took her son Marcus to Winchester Goalball Club.

After getting involved in supporting training sessions, Bev took the steps to qualify as a Goalball UK Referee in 2018.

Since then, Bev has demonstrated exceptional commitment across all levels of the domestic game, becoming one of our most dependable and respected officials. Her dedication has seen her rise to the highest levels of national competition, refereeing at Super League level and at our domestic flagship event the Goalfix Cup.

In 2023, Bev achieved her IBSA Level 1 qualification and has since officiated at major international events, including the Berlin Nations Cup, the European Club Champions League, and the Goalball UK International Trophy.

What truly sets Bev apart is her unwavering commitment to her personal development and her passion for supporting new activators and referees as they grow in the sport.

While enforcing the rules on court Bev is also known for showing considerable kindness and empathy towards the players on and off court helping to create and encourage a positive atmosphere at Goalball UK events. This is particularly present in Bev’s contribution to Goalball UK’s This Girl Can Open competition over recent years.

Alongside her officiating, Bev continues to volunteer at Winchester Goalball Club, supporting training sessions and serving on the committee as Competitions Administrator, further demonstrating her ongoing dedication to the sport and its community.

Without people like Bev our sport cannot thrive, so, on behalf of everyone within the Goalball Community, thank you Bev!
