Aaron Ford, GB Women's Head Coach providing his thoughts on being accepted onto the high performance apprenticeship.Aaron Ford, Great Britain Women’s Head Coach becomes a part of the High Performance Coach Apprenticeship!

The newly launched UK Sport High Performance Coach Apprenticeship features 26 coaches across 16 different sports, including our very own Aaron Ford! The programme is set to run for 18 months where the coaches will come together to share knowledge and experience to support each other to improve as a coaching community in their current and future roles within the high performance world.

Aaron is (rightly so!) extremely proud to be a part of the programme and said: “I am really looking forward to the opportunity to work alongside and learn from other high-performance coaches and UK Sport educators on the programme. I hope to take advantage of the opportunity to develop my own coaching practice and understanding to be able to better support our high-performance athletes as we aim to qualify for Paris 2024. I also hope this development opportunity will help to further strengthen our existing High-Performance Programme, which can in turn only benefit athletes and coaches within Goalball UK.”

Mark Winder, Goalball UK CEO was in high spirits upon hearing the great news of Aaron being accepted onto the programme. Here’s what Mark had to say “We are incredibly pleased Aaron has been accepted onto the programme. It is testimony to his hard work within our sport. It also demonstrates the development we are making in our sport. We hope his learning will help to further develop our high performance system”.
