Goalball UK have joined forces with BucksVision to bring goalball to Stoke Mandeville the home of the Paralympic Sport. On Saturday 3rd February over 60 participants aged 5 to 80 attended the launch ran by players from our Great Britain Men’s and Women’s squads. The day involved teaching players from scratch what goalball is, a demonstration game by GB, finishing with everyone trying the game for themselves.

BucksVision fundraising manager Anne Mills said: “It was a wonderful day and a great atmosphere. We had more than 60 people have a go – a mixture of sighted people, those who are visually impaired, parents, kids – it was fantastic. The next step for us to continue the growth of goalball in Buckinghamshire is to set up a goalball club which we hope will meet monthly.”

If you live in Buckinghamshire and want to get involved either as a player, coach or volunteer please contact Goalball UK on enquiries@goalballuk.com or contact Anne from BucksVision directly at amills@bucksvision.co.uk

Thank you to everyone who made this event so successful especially all the lovely participants, BucksVision, Tesco (Tring Road) Farm to Folk Initiative and our fantastic GB ambassadors.
