We are delighted to welcome three new Directors to the Board at Goalball UK

Following on from the departure of three long serving members we can now announce Scott McMunn, Lauren Kocher and Emma Henwood as Directors at Goalball UK.

Read on to meet the latest members of the Board:

Scott McMunn

Scott joins Goalball UK with a rich background in the financial services industry, where he holds leadership roles and champions diversity and equality. His connection to sports as a player and spectator, combined with his recent high-level positions, including a term on a Bank of England committee and as Chief Executive of the Loan Market Association, demonstrate his expertise and governance skills.

Scott is motivated by a desire to give back and driven by a passion for equal opportunities in sports. Scott is enthusiastic about contributing to both the elite and grassroots levels of Goalball, focusing on sporting achievements, fundraising, and community impact.

Lauren Kocher

Lauren joins Goalball UK with extensive experience in non-profit programme and project management, and a strong belief in the power of sport for physical and social well-being. Her career spans over 20 years, beginning in international development with a focus on sport, and progressing to youth sector work in the UK.

Currently leading the Mayor of London’s sport team and working as a freelance consultant, Lauren has always been an active sportsperson, with a history in university cricket and hockey, and participation in events like the London Marathon. She is excited about supporting Goalball UK’s growth and learning more about the sport and its community.

Emma Henwood

Emma’s background as Insight, Policy, and Public Affairs Manager at Sport Wales, combined with her expertise in communications, public affairs, and sports governance brings plenty of fantastic experience to Goalball UK.

An avid half-marathon runner and supporter of Welsh sports, Emma’s passion extends beyond her professional life. She is also setting up a Women’s Sport Charity in Wales as a committed advocate for women in sports. Attracted to Goalball UK for its impactful potential, Emma is ready to dive into various projects with her hands-on approach.

We’re really looking forward to working closely with Scott, Emma and Lauren and welcoming them in to the goalball community!
