This week, we’re getting to know 5 of our recently recruited Youth Forum members. Next up we are learning more about Aneesah Rabbaanee!
- Name – Aneesah Rabbaanee
- Age – 21
- Goalball Club – Nottinghamshire Sheriffs
How did you get involved with goalball?
I came across goalball on the This Girl Can website. After that, in 2018, I joined the Nottinghamshire Sherriff’s Goalball Club, as I wanted to be part of a sport to help maintain my fitness. I felt welcomed by both the players and coaches within my club from my very first training session. During my time at the club, I have participated in several competitions and tournaments.
What do you do outside of goalball?
Aside from goalball I work in a dental practice as a dental nurse and hope to train to become a dental therapist in the future.
What do you hope to do within the Youth Forum?
I would like to be more involved in goalball, hence me being part of the goalball youth forum! Having seen the positive impact goalball has had on my teammates, it has sparked a desire for me to help grow the opportunity for children and young adults with a visual impairment to get more active!
We will be chatting to a member of the Youth Forum every weekday this week. Who will we be chatting to next? Come back tomorrow to find out!
