Fundraising goal success for Megan Smithson-Booth

Our goal has been met in raising vital funds for Megan Smithson-Booth in the hope to keep her Paralympic dream alive, all thanks to you, the #GoalballFamily for raising £5,371!

Megan would like to say thank you to everyone who supported her with donations and well wishes via an open letter:

“Hi goalball family,

I just wanted to say a massive thank you for all your generosity and kindness towards funding my hip preservation surgery. I am super grateful for all your donations and support that I have received across social media. The goalball family has been invaluable and the support means the absolute world to me as I am able to have the surgery I need. I am excited and determined to be mobile, pain free and an athlete again which would not be possible without your help. It is a huge comfort that I have had the backing of Goalball UK, TASS, RNC and SportsAid and my words cannot express how grateful I am. Thanks again and I am looking forward to join you all back on court following my recovery.

Megan”

Mark Winder, Goalball UK CEO also commented on the amazing result which now means Megan can continue to pursue her dreams “This is a tremendous result for Megan. On behalf of Goalball UK I would like to thank all who have donated to help her. It is a true reflection of the culture within our sport. You are all an amazing bunch of people I am honoured and blessed to be working with”.

You can still donate to Megan’s fundraising campaign with any additional donations to the £5,000 target supporting more young people like Megan to reach their full potential!
