Each Thursday we want to put the spotlight on a person involved with goalball – from players, officials to coaches, or anyone!
We want to use this opportunity where we have a bit more time on our hands to get to know you all a little bit better.
This week we caught up with Chris Colbert from RNC
How did you discover goalball?
I first discovered goalball when I attended RNC, and I really enjoyed it and stuck with it as I love a good competition.
Is there a particular song, artist or genre that you listen to before a tournament to get in the mood? Or anything you are loving at the moment?
Dance Monkey by Tones and I
Do you have any pre-game superstitions or rituals?
We have a team talk and get in the mood for the game. We then put our hands in together and shout ‘RNC!’
Do you have a favourite post-match meal?
I have some water and a breakfast bar.
Which goalball player do you admire the most and why?
Dan Roper, I look up to him because he gives good advice and he helps people out.
Outside of goalball, what other hobbies/sports do you do?
I like playing cricket, football and I also do strongman events.
Finally, what place, anywhere in the world, is on your bucket list to visit and why?
I would like to go to Dubai, because it is warm and a really nice place to go to.
