Each Thursday we want to put the spotlight on a person involved with goalball – from players, officials, coaches, or anyone.

This week we caught up with Conall Moore!

What club do you play for or coach?

I play for RNC. I made my debut at the Intermediate League South (Matchday 3) in March this year and also played in the Novice Shield in April – which we won!

How did you discover goalball?

I once went along to a taster session at Winchester Goalball Club, but I didn’t start playing properly until I started at RNC.

Is there a particular song, artist or genre that you listen to before a tournament to get in the mood? Or anything you’re loving at the moment?

I like listening to Rap music although I also like some classic bands like Oasis.

Do you have any pre-game superstitions or rituals?

I always do a good warm up and get used to defending the ball. It’s then shades on, game on!

Do you have a favourite post-match meal?

Steak and chips.

Which goalball player do you admire the most and why?

There are lots of great elite players at RNC – including Meme Robertson, Antonia Bunyan, Chris Colbert and Stuart Hudson – who are all really supportive.

Outside of goalball, what other hobbies/sports do you do?

I like rugby union. I support London Irish and also Ulster.

Finally, what place, anywhere in the world, is on your bucket list to visit and why?

I would like to go to Australia and New Zealand to watch some rugby but also to experience the culture.
