Each Thursday we want to put the spotlight on a person involved with goalball – from players, officials, coaches, or anyone.

This week we caught up with Leo Stubbs!

What club do you play for or coach?

I play for Winchester.

How did you discover goalball?

The VI Specialist at my school introduced me to Adam and David Knott – they both have Albinism like me. I went to visit them at their house and once I was old enough, I joined Winchester Goalball Club.

Is there a particular song, artist or genre that you listen to before a tournament to get in the mood? Or anything you’re loving at the moment?

I like Eminem, Twenty One Pilots and Mumford and Sons.

Do you have any pre-game superstitions or rituals?

Lots of sugar to give me energy!

Do you have a favourite post-match meal?

I like a Chinese banquet.

Which goalball player do you admire the most and why?

Adam Knott has helped me so much. Not just in goalball but at school as well.

Outside of goalball, what other hobbies/sports do you do?

I like gaming or just spending time with my family.

Finally, what place, anywhere in the world, is on your bucket list to visit and why?

I would like to go to Paris as it is not too hot.
