Each Thursday we want to put the spotlight on a person involved with goalball – from players, officials, coaches, or anyone.

This week we caught up with Max Dyble!

What club do you play for or coach?

I am part of the #FindTheNext Goalball Academy. I played in my 1st tournament in July 2022 – the End of Season tournament in Bromsgrove.

 How did you discover goalball?

I first tried playing at Primary School then I joined the #FindTheNext Goalball Academy in November 2020.

Is there a particular song, artist or genre that you listen to before a tournament to get in the mood?  Or anything you’re loving at the moment?

I like Queen – my favourite song is ‘We will rock you’!

Do you have any pre-game superstitions or rituals?

I always make sure that I have had a big breakfast!

Do you have a favourite post-match meal?

I like a Chinese takeaway. My favourite dish is sweet and sour chicken balls.

Which goalball player do you admire the most and why?

I admire all the teammates and coaches in the #FindTheNext Goalball Academy.

Outside of goalball, what other hobbies/sports do you do?

I love football and support Brentford FC. I also like taekwondo. I am a black belt and train twice a week.

Finally, what place, anywhere in the world, is on your bucket list to visit and why?

I would like to go to Spain for a sunny, beach holiday.
