Goalball UK GB men’s squad travelled to Portugal this weekend to compete in the Blind Games. The tournament included two matchdays where the squad were up against teams from Germany, Ukraine, France and Portugal.

The squad were placed fourth overall after two remarkably close games against Germany and Portugal.

Faye Dale, Talent Lead at Goalball UK, and Head Coach for the squad said “We were really pleased overall with the tournament and finishing fourth. We lost two games by just one goal. To only be beaten by Germany by one goal with a fantastic comeback from the squad after half time and shows the strength of our players and their resilience. The IBSA European Group B Championships is creeping up on us fast and we are well underway with our final preparations. The Blind Games provided an invaluable opportunity for learning and development ahead of November.”
