Goalball UK is teaming up with hummel, the international sportswear brand, in a new partnership.

The first of its kind deal for Goalball UK will see the leading Danish company producing the kits that will be worn by the Great Britain squads over a four-year period.

Hummel joins Goalball UK on its exciting journey as the national governing body aims to continue its development of its high-performance programme and grassroots structure.

By teaming up with hummel, Goalball UK joins its high-profile portfolio of sporting organisations that the company provides kits for, which includes the likes of Premier League clubs Everton and Southampton, as well as the Danish National Football Team.

The new kit will make its debut at the European A Championships in the Autumn, being worn by the women’s Great Britain squad. However, the clothing will be worn by staff from July and volunteers from the start of the new competition structure in September.

Mark Winder, Goalball UK CEO, said: “To join forces with a brand like hummel is a major milestone for our sport in the UK. This really demonstrates the growth of goalball that a world-renowned brand wants to foster this partnership.

“For the last decade we have been working within the VI community, the largest cohort within the disability spectrum, to provide transformational opportunities to experience the challenge and joy of team-based sport, and we welcome hummel along with us on this journey.

“Despite not receiving world class or progression funding, hummel views us as a growing and important sport. With their support over the coming years, it will really enable us to realise our ambitions from grassroots to the international stage.”

James Golden, Head of Teamsport hummel UK & IRE, added: “Our mission is to change the world through sport, and it was apparent from the beginning that these values are shared by Goalball UK; the incredible work they do to provide opportunities to those on the disability spectrum only reinforces this. We think this partnership will not only produce fantastic kits for the Great Britain squad but also create a positive impact for all involved, from grass roots to elite. Welcome to the hummel family.”

And to you hummel, welcome to the #GoalballFamily!
