Each week we are going to be saying “Hello” to another organisation in the VI world to learn more about who they are and what they do.
This week, we are chatting to Fraser Fleming from TripleTapTech who has been nominated for the Entrepreneur of Excellence Award at the 2021 National Diversity Awards.
So, Hi Fraser, please can you tell us about TripleTapTech:
We are a social enterprise based in Scotland but our services are available throughout the UK over the phone and via digital communication platforms. We advise, help, support and train people with a visual impairment on everything to do with technology – assistive and everyday.
Our website contains lots of general information about accessible technology and we host a TripleTapTech Drop In on Zoom. The next is on Thursday 17th June between 12pm and 3pm.
We also host TripleTapChats on Zoom every fortnight that are a good way to get help and advice from other people with a visual impairment. The next is on Wednesday 23rd June between 1pm and 3pm. We have created some guides that explain how to access the TripleTapChats on Zoom.
Alternatively, we have a Helpline (Tel. 07494 706190) that anyone with a visual impairment can call, during normal working hours, to chat to one of our technology and sight loss experts about specific issues.
When restrictions allow, we will resume our face to face services such as one to one training and technology try outs from our office (in Glasgow).
And you host monthly Tech Talks (on Zoom) covering different areas and devices?
Yes, this month it will be on Wednesday 16th June at 1pm and we will have Synapptic joining us for a review of their software and products. There will also be a general technology Q&A at the end. Recordings of previous talks including Amazon Alexa and Envision Glasses are available on our website.
And what about accessible gaming?
There is a section on our website dedicated to accessible gaming and we have also created the BlindNinja1704 gamer tag so you can join in playing with us. Every Wednesday between 7pm and 9pm we have a live Visually Impaired Games stream on Twitch. We play games on different devices and talk about how to make them accessible and strategies for visually impaired players. We have also published a number of videos on the BlindNinja1704 YouTube Channel.
How can we find out more information?
You can visit our website or email us. You can also connect with us via social media:
