Thursday 6thDecember saw Goalball UK run our first school competition as part of our National Schools Programme. The tournament was a great success, with 5 teamscompeting from 3 primary schools across Sheffield. It was amazing to see thesmiles on everybody’s faces! Children, teachers and parents all stated just howmuch fun the competition was to watch and be part of.

The tournament was very closein the end, and after 20 games of goalball Beck Primary School A Team emerged as Sheffield School Goalball Champions. Well done on winning the first of many school goalball competitions!

A massive thank you to everyone involved, it was great to have so many spectators at the event. A special thank you goes to Arches School Sports Partnership who kindly hosted the event, and who’s sports leaders were a great helping hand. The tournament wouldn’t have happened without your support. Of course, a big thank you goes to BBC Children in Need for funding this programme!
