Phil Green, supported by Kathryn Fielding, became the latest member of the Goalball Family to take on a #TwoPointSixChallenge, when he cycled 78 miles from Barnsley to Liverpool on Thursday 6th August.

Phil and Kathryn stood, with their bikes, in front of a statue by the main gates at Goodison Park

The journey began from Oakwell Stadium, the home of Phil’s beloved Barnsley FC, and finished at Goodison Park, the home of Kathryn’s beloved Everton FC! They followed the picturesque Trans Pennine Trail, cycling through parts of South Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside.

Reflecting on the challenge, Phil said: “It was really tough, especially the climb up and over the Pennines, but I really enjoyed it. Luckily the weather was perfect – no rain, no wind and not too hot. Thank you to everyone who sent messages of support and made donations. Goalball has had a major impact on my life over the past 10 years (https://goalballuk.com/goalball-uk-celebrates-10-years-with-10-stories-phil-green/) so being able to give something back was important to me.”
