Following two fantastic coaching conferences in 2013 and 2014 it seemed only natural to evolve this event into a greater, broader representation of what is involved when running a Goalball club.

Alongside a name change the Club Conference now boasts a broader range of workshops including:-

– How to coach novice, intermediate and elite players in offence and defence as well as coaching from the bench led by GB Head Coaches Aaron Ford and Faye Dale
– Officials workshops led by our international referee Dina Murdie
– Club Matters workshop incorporating how to find and source funding, how to encourage new players to join and develop current players led by Goalball UK’s Becky Ashworth.

In total 8 Clubs were represented – Cambridge Dons, Leicester Bulls, Nottingham, Gloucester, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, Winchester and York St John’s. Alongside gaining knowledge and understand of coaching and officiating this is also an excellent opportunity to network and gain advice from other clubs.

“It was a great experience to meet fellow Goalball coaches from around the county and share training ideas. It was also a great opportunity to work with and learn from the GB Goalball coaches.” Chris Davies (Winchester Goalball Club Coach and Official)

“its allowed me to gain confidence through sharing expertise and knowledge in a fun and interactive way. As always Goalball UK has helped to positively build relationships within the Goalball community by bringing different clubs together” Dani Dillon (Nottinghamshire Goalball Club Sheriffs Coach and Official)

Thank you to everyone who attended and looking forward to our next club conference in 2016.
