Goalball UK Independent CareLine

Goalball UK is committed to safeguarding the wellbeing of everyone involved in our sport. To support a safe, open, and transparent culture, we provide access to an Independent CareLine.

The CareLine offers a confidential way to raise concerns with someone outside of Goalball UK, particularly if you do not feel comfortable reporting an issue internally.

What is the CareLine?

The Goalball UK Independent CareLine is:

  • Independent of Goalball UK
  • Managed by Swan CMC, an external professional service
  • Available to anyone involved in Goalball UK activities

It provides a safe space to speak openly and receive advice, guidance, and support from a trained, non‑judgemental professional.

When can the CareLine be used?

You may contact the CareLine if you have:

  • A safeguarding concern about a child, young person, or adult at risk
  • A concern about wellbeing or mental health
  • A complaint involving Goalball UK
  • Reason to believe a criminal act or serious misconduct may have taken place within Goalball UK
  • A concern you do not feel able to raise through normal safeguarding routes

The CareLine is not a replacement for emergency services.

  • In a friendly, non‑judgemental way
  • By an independent professional

Confidentiality

All contact with the CareLine is treated confidentially.
However, where there is a safeguarding concern or risk of harm, information may need to be shared with appropriate agencies or Goalball UK in line with safeguarding duties and the law.

This ensures that concerns are managed appropriately, lawfully, and in the best interests of those involved.
