How to fundraise for Goalball UK

You’re ready to raise some funds, now what?

It’s best to start with an idea of what you want to do, how much you want to fundraise and when you’d like to do it.

To get started, get in touch with Charlotte by email to charlotte.reed@goalballuk.com or follow the steps below:

Choose an event

Decide what you’d like to do! It could be a sporty challenge, a sponsored silence, quitting chocolate for a month or anything else you fancy. Check out our ideas page for more inspiration.

Set the date

Pick a date, allowing yourself plenty of time to get your sponsorship in.

Share!

Share your event on social media and with friends and family. Don’t forget to tag @Goalball UK in on your socials!

Decide how you’d like to collect the money

You will need to decide how to collect money, this can be done via a sponsorship form or by setting up an online page on our donation site run by Enthuse. Adding lots of photos and your story will help people connect to your cause.

Keep it safe and legal

You will need to make sure your event has all the necessary permissions and insurance where necessary. There is a great guide on the Gov.uk website at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/can-do-guide-for-organisers-of-voluntary-events/the-can-do-guide-to-organising-and-running-voluntary-and-community-events

After the event

After your event it’s important to:

  • Thank your supporters
  • Let Goalball UK know how much you’ve raised via [form]
  • Pay in your money
  • Don’t forget to add in any ‘offline’ donations to your donation page if you set one up
  • Let Goalball UK know how it went! We’d love to share your success so please submit any photos of your event to [email address]
