The Great Britain squads return from the IBSA Goalball European A Championships 2017 with mixed feelings. The competition was held in Pajulahti, Finland from 18th to 22nd September. The Womens squad manage to remain in the A league with a 6th place finish with the men finishing 10th and as a result will be in the B league next year. The competition is the highest level of goalball in Europe and featured both the gold medallist for the men and womens competition from Rio 2016 Paralympic Games (Lithuania and Turkey respectively).

Both squads had a tough task on their hands after being promoted from the European B league last October and with limited funding. However there were fantastic performances and many positives from both squads during the week.
