I’m excited about seeing more youth female players become part of the talent pathway. It will enable them to have the same opportunities I have at representing Great Britain at a youth level.

I want to show mature women that it’s possible and acceptable to get involved!

About The Group

The This Girl Can Project Group launched in October 2022 following a drive at Goalball UK to understand how we can support women and girls further.

Aims of the This Girl Can Project Group:

  • Understand the experiences of women and girls in our membership (positive and negative)
  • Inform clubs, coaches, and Goalball UK staff about our findings to maximise the positives and minimise the negatives/challenges
  • Plan, and deliver additional opportunities aimed towards blind or partially sighted women and girls, to boost our membership, and enhance current members’ experiences

Six Goalball UK members have formed the This Girl Can Project Group from different walks of the goalball world, all of whom are driven to make a difference in the sport of goalball in the UK.

One of the This Girl Can Project Group’s main roles is to better understand the experiences of our current female members. We want to learn how we can develop our female-specific offering. Please complete our women and girls experience in sport survey now!

In 2023, we will work to share our learnings and host additional opportunities for women and girls in our Goalball Family.
